Privacy Policy

As of October 2026

Here you can find out what personal data is processed when you visit this website, for what purposes, and on what legal basis. In short: This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies, counts visits only using statistics that do not involve cookies or personal identification (see Section 11), and does not share data for advertising purposes. My apps each have their own privacy policies, which you can find on the respective app’s page.

1. Data Controller

The controller responsible for data processing on this website within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

Luca Ring
Im Heidekämpchen 20
45665 Recklinghausen
Germany

Phone: 0151 6857 9268
Email: luca.ring2004@icloud.com

I do not have a Data Protection Officer because there is no legal obligation to do so. If you have any questions about data protection, simply write to me at the address listed above.

2. Hosting and Server Logs

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. The website’s content (text, images) and the entries on the waiting list (see Section 5) are also stored on Vercel’s storage service (Vercel Blob).

Every time you visit a page, Vercel automatically processes data transmitted by your browser that is technically necessary to deliver the website to you and protect it from attacks:

  • IP address
  • Date and time of the visit
  • URL accessed and amount of data transferred
  • Website from which you came (referrer)
  • Browser, operating system, and language setting (user agent)

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. My legitimate interest lies in providing the website in a secure, stable, and fast manner. According to Vercel, these logs are stored only for a short period of time. I do not combine them with other data or analyze them to identify visitors.

Vercel processes the data on my behalf based on a data processing agreement (Article 28 of the GDPR). In doing so, data may be transferred to the United States. Vercel is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has issued an adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR). In addition, the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses apply (Art. 46 GDPR). More information: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

3. Encryption

This website is accessible exclusively via an encrypted connection (HTTPS/TLS). This ensures that data you submit via the website—such as your email address for the waiting list—cannot be intercepted by third parties during transmission.

4. Cookies and Browser Storage

This website does not use any tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies. Therefore, there is no cookie banner.

Only if you select a language yourself in the footer does the website store this choice in a cookie named “language” (content: only the language code, e.g., “en”). This ensures that the website appears in your language the next time you visit. The cookie expires after one year; you can delete it at any time in your browser. It is strictly necessary for this function you have requested (Section 25(2)(2) TDDDG); the legal basis for further processing is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.

In addition, there is a password-protected admin area that only I use: After logging in, the website stores a login cookie there, which expires no later than seven days after creation. It is technically essential (§ 25(2)(2) TDDDG) and does not affect website visitors.

5. Waiting List

For apps that have not yet been released, you can add yourself to a waiting list using your email address. In doing so, I store:

  • your email address
  • which app you signed up for
  • the date and time of your registration

Purpose: I’ll notify you by email as soon as the app is released. I won’t send you a newsletter or any advertising. The notification is either sent manually from my email address as a blind carbon copy (BCC) to everyone—so no recipient can see the other recipients’ addresses—or the website automatically sends it to you as a single email as soon as I publish the app. You’ll receive at most one automated email per app, in German or English, depending on which language version of the website you used to sign up. For this purpose, I also store the language and the time the email was sent.

Delivery: I send the automated email via my Apple email account (iCloud Mail, see Section 6) or via the Resend service provided by Plus Five Five, Inc., 2261 Market Street #5039, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA. The respective provider receives your email address and the content of the email for this purpose. Resend processes the data on my behalf (Art. 28 GDPR) and stores it in the U.S.; Resend is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR); in addition, the EU Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses apply (Art. 46 GDPR). For more information: resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may revoke your consent at any time without providing a reason; a brief email to me is sufficient. The lawfulness of the processing carried out up to that point remains unaffected.

Retention period: I will delete your entry as soon as I have informed you of the app’s release, no later than 90 days after the automated email, as well as if you withdraw your consent or if I no longer intend to release the app.

Protection Against Abuse: To prevent anyone from automatically flooding the waiting list with entries, your IP address is briefly logged in the server’s cache when you submit your entry (maximum of five entries in ten minutes). It is not permanently stored and is discarded after ten minutes at the latest. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR; my legitimate interest is to protect the website from misuse.

6. Contact via Email

If you send me an email—for example, via a contact or support button on this website—I will process your email address, your name (if provided), and the content of your message in order to respond to your inquiry. These buttons only open your own email program; the website itself does not receive any data in the process.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR if your inquiry relates to a contract or one of my apps; otherwise, it is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR (my legitimate interest in responding to inquiries). I will delete the messages once your request has been resolved and provided there are no legal retention requirements to the contrary.

My email inbox is provided by Apple Distribution International Ltd., Hollyhill Industrial Estate, Hollyhill, Cork, Ireland (iCloud Mail). Your message is stored there.

7. Fonts

This website uses the “Inter” font. It is hosted directly on this website’s server. When you visit the site, no connection is established with Google or other font providers.

8. Videos from YouTube and Vimeo

Some app pages may embed videos from YouTube or Vimeo. To ensure that no data is sent to these providers simply by visiting the page, the website uses a two-click solution: At first, you’ll only see a thumbnail image hosted on this website’s server. Only when you tap “Play” does your browser load the respective provider’s player. From that point on, the provider receives, in particular, your IP address, browser data, the page address, and information about your use of the video, and may store data in your browser.

  • YouTube is integrated in enhanced privacy mode (youtube-nocookie.com). The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy
  • Vimeo is integrated with the “Do Not Track” setting. The provider is Vimeo.com, Inc., 330 West 34th Street, 5th Floor, New York, NY 10001, USA. Privacy Policy: vimeo.com/privacy

The legal basis is your consent by clicking “Play” (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG). In doing so, data may be transferred to the United States. Google and Vimeo are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR). If you do not play the video, no connection is established; your consent applies only to this specific video and ends when you leave the page.

9. Links to the App Store and Social Networks

The website contains links to the App Store and TestFlight (Apple), as well as, where applicable, to my profiles on GitHub, X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and Threads. These are simple links: You only leave this website when you click on one of them, and the privacy policy of the respective provider applies to the destination page. No data is transferred to these providers beforehand.

10. Website Language

The website automatically displays its text in the appropriate language. The following order applies:

  1. the language you selected in the footer (the “language” cookie; see Section 4)
  2. otherwise, the language setting that your browser sends along with every page request
  3. otherwise, the country that Vercel roughly determines based on your IP address (only the country, no more precise location)

This information is evaluated only at the moment the page is loaded and is not stored for this purpose. Translations of my own website content are prepared in advance; your data is not shared with anyone for this purpose. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR; my legitimate interest is to display the website to you in a language you can understand.

11. Visitor Statistics (Vercel Web Analytics)

To see how many people visit the website and which pages are popular, I use Vercel Web Analytics from Vercel Inc. (see Section 2 for the address). To do this, a small script on this website reports each page view to Vercel. The following information is collected:

  • the page accessed and the time of access
  • the website you came from (referrer)
  • Approximate location (country, region, city), derived from the IP address
  • browser, operating system, and device type, including their respective versions

No cookies are set, and nothing is stored in your browser. To ensure that multiple page views during the same visit are counted only once, Vercel generates a unique identifier (hash) from the request, which is discarded after 24 hours. Your IP address is not stored for this purpose. I only see aggregated statistics and cannot identify who you are from them.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. My legitimate interest is to understand website usage in aggregated form and to improve the site. You may object to this at any time (see Section 12); you can also prevent data collection by using a content blocker in your browser.

Vercel processes the data on my behalf (Art. 28 GDPR). For transfers to the U.S., the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework applies, supplemented by the Standard Contractual Clauses (see Section 2). More information: vercel.com/docs/analytics/privacy-policy

12. Your Rights

You have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

  • The right to know whether and what data I process about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • Withdrawal of consent with future effect (Art. 7(3) GDPR)

Simply send me an email.

Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): To the extent that I process data based on my legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you may object to this processing at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation. I will then no longer process the data, unless I can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing or the processing is necessary for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.

Right to File a Complaint: You may file a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for me is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia, Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf, ldi.nrw.de.

13. Miscellaneous

You are not required to provide me with personal data. However, without an email address, I cannot notify you when an app is released. No automated decision-making or profiling takes place.

I will update this Privacy Policy if the website or the legal situation changes. The version currently published here applies.
