Storage and iCloud
Hour stores income, working hours, language, currency, and display settings locally. The app and Safari extension share these settings on the same device. There is no user account, no tracking, and no integrated analytics or advertising services. The developer does not receive this information. To the extent that personal data is processed, it is done so to fulfill the requested app functionality (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The data remains stored until the respective app and Safari data is modified or deleted; device backups may contain copies.
Only if you enable iCloud synchronization does Hour additionally store income, working hours, income type, time period, language, and currency in Apple’s iCloud Key-Value Store and synchronize them across devices linked to the same Apple ID. Apple processes this data to provide iCloud in accordance with its privacy policy.
The developer does not have access to your private iCloud storage. Display settings remain on the respective device. When synchronization is turned off, Hour continues to function locally, and changes remain on the device. If you turn it back on later, data modified locally can be synchronized. In the event of conflicting changes, the most recent modification time takes precedence; older entries may be replaced in the process. iCloud copies may remain after syncing is turned off or Hour is uninstalled; you can manage stored data in your iCloud settings. Website content and local AI analyses are not included in this synchronization.
Access to Websites
With your consent, Hour processes page content for price recognition in Safari. On compatible devices, page titles and limited text excerpts may be analyzed using Apple’s on-device language model. Processing takes place on the device; Hour does not send this content to the developer’s server. Results are temporarily stored in memory. This is based on the requested function (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). You can revoke website permissions in Safari at any time.
Hour may use Apple Intelligence’s local AI model for price recognition, provided it is available on your device. This AI analysis takes place exclusively on your device. The page content used for this purpose is not sent to Apple, the developer, or other AI services for processing.
Contact via Email
When you send an email, your address, the message content, and any voluntary information you provide are processed to handle your inquiry. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR for usage-related inquiries; otherwise, it is Article 6(1)(f) (legitimate interest in responding). Processing is carried out via email services, including iCloud Mail. Messages are deleted after final processing, provided there are no legal retention requirements or necessary evidence for legal claims to the contrary.
Apple and Third-Party Services
App Store downloads, device backups, and email services are also subject to the privacy policies of the respective providers. Processing may take place outside the EU. External websites are only accessed by clicking a link and process data according to their own policies. Hour does not transmit usage profiles and does not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
Your Rights
To the extent that the legal requirements are met, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, and data portability. You may object to processing under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation. You may withdraw any consent you have given with future effect. Inquiries may be submitted via email. You may file a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular the LDI North Rhine-Westphalia. Calculations cannot be performed without voluntary income information; email inquiries cannot be answered without an email address.
